SWAT Surrounds San Pedro Home, Suspect Not Inside
SAN PEDRO (CBS) — Police Wednesday surrounded a residence in San Pedro where a homicide suspect was believed barricaded, but the man was not inside, authorities said.
A SWAT team was sent early Wednesday morning to the area of 25th and Alma streets, Los Angeles Police Department Officer Norma Eisenman said. Shortly before 7 a.m., officers determined that the man was not in the residence.
On Tuesday at about 10:35 a.m., paramedics were sent to the 2600 block of South Alma Street -- where a man had been shot in his residence -- and they pronounced him dead at the scene. The name of the dead man -- who was in his 20s -- was withheld, pending notification of kin.
Two men who apparently impersonated law enforcement officers were being sought for the killing, police said.
