Police: 'Suspicious' Package With Anti-Semitic Message Left At Chanel Store
BEVERLY HILLS (CBSLA.com) — A suspicious package with an anti-Semitic message left in Beverly Hills has been deemed harmless.
Beverly Hills police said in department statement that Chanel store employees made the discovery about 11:40 a.m. Sunday. The package was found in the 400 block of North Rodeo Drive.
"Upon arrival, officers saw markings on the package, which led them to believe the contents may have contained an explosive device," the statement said.
Officers with the Beverly Hills Police Department also told CBS2's Jeff Nguyen that the package had an anti-Semitic message written on it.
By 1:40 p.m., officials cleared the scene after the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Bomb Squad determined that the package was inert.
An investigation was under way.
