Suspicious Suitcase Forces Evacuation Of Fairfax District School
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Students have been removed from classrooms at a Fairfax District school after a security guard found a suspicious suitcase on campus.
The guard at Charles H. Kim Elementary School, 225 S. Oxford Avenue, found the briefcase outside of the school's front office around 12:20 p.m. Wednesday.
School officials called police who sent the bomb squad to investigate.
Students were then removed from their classrooms and held in a the schools lunch area, according to Gail Pollard of the Los Angeles Unified School District.
Streets surrounding the school have been cordoned off.
