2 Suspects Flee After Their Vehicle Plows Into Townhouse During Police Chase
STANTON (CBSLA.com) — A police chase in west Orange County ended Wednesday afternoon when the suspect's car plowed into a townhouse, authorities reported.
Officers were tailing the vehicle during a drug investigation when the driver spotted them and took off, Stanton police reported.
The woman behind the wheel drove for less than a minute before losing control of the silver Lexus.
The vehicle bashed into the front door of a townhouse on the 8000 block of Court Street in Stanton, Sky2's Stu Mundel reported.
"My brother called me when I was on my way to work and said, 'You cannot go in the house because all the police are outside,'" said neighbor Chinh Nguyen.
Firefighters had to cut the top of the car to pull the woman out. She sustained injuries from the crash and was taken to a hospital.
Two male passengers in the Lexus bailed on foot before officers could catch them.
Police said they found a gun and drugs inside the suspect's vehicle.
Contractors were sent to repair the damaged townhouse Wednesday night. Authorities said the building is still structurally sound. The family inside did not want to comment on the incident.
