Suspects Arrested On Murder Charges In Death Of Torrance Man, 67

TORRANCE (CBS) — Two men accused of strangling a 67-year-old man to death during a home robbery were behind bars, police said Tuesday.

On Friday, March 23, at approximately 9:35 p.m., the Torrance Police Department received a call to check on the welfare of a male subject at a residence in the 20400 block of Roslin Ave in the City of Torrance.

Officers arrived at the residence and found a male deceased at the location who was later identified as Torrance resident Norman Mangus.

Torrance Police Department Detectives determined Mangus was the victim of foul play and are ruling his death as a homicide. The Los Angeles County Coroner's Office responded to the scene for further investigation regarding the cause of death.

Detectives were able to quickly identify two persons of interest related to this crime. After further investigation over the weekend, it was determined that Mangus was murdered by strangulation during the commission of a robbery.

L.A. residents Joshua Alfano, 20, and Morgan Delange, 18, were taken into custody and charged with murder on Monday.

Although the investigation is ongoing, it is not believed there are any other outstanding suspects related to this crime. Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact the Torrance Police Department Detective Division at (310) 618-5570.
