Driver Suspected Of DUI Hits Palm-Reading Business In Anaheim

ANAHEIM (CBSLA.com) — A driver suspected of DUI plowed his pickup into a palm-reading business in Anaheim Friday night, and its owner said she had a premonition it was going to happen.

The driver of a Chevrolet Silverado pickup rear-ended a Toyota Camry about 4:30 p.m. before slamming into a carport storage area of the psychic business storefront at 1224 S. Beach Boulevard.

Rachel Williams is the owner. "I knew it was coming, and it happened. I knew it. I had that spiritual feeling," she said. "I knew it was coming, but I wasn't sure what hour."

The 66-year-old and her son, Barney Lee, were inside. He said he heard what sounded like an explosion then felt the truck graze him as it came to a stop.

Williams was inside the business. She was treated and released from the hospital after complaining of neck and back pain.

Lee said the driver tried to get away, but he and some passersby grabbed the man's keys and detained him until police arrived.

"Me and the gentleman then at that point pretty much just grabbed him, pulled him out of the car, held him down for police. Even when we had him on the ground, the guy's still trying to get away. It was crazy," Lee said.
