Suspect Wanted For Groping Women At Upland Shopping Center

UPLAND (CBSLA.com) – Police Friday released a sketch of a sexual battery suspect, who has groped at least seven women at an Upland shopping center.

Detectives said the suspect, possibly in his teens, approached his victims from behind and grabbed them.

Most of the incidents occurred at a shopping center in the 1600 block of North Mountain Avenue. One of the attacks happened in the 1500 block of West 15th Street.

In each case, the suspect did not speak to the victims and took off on a BMX-style bike, police said.

His targets have been women in their 30s and under and wearing workout clothes or yoga pants.

"He just came up from behind and he bumped his privates on my back side and grabbed my hips," one victim told CBS2's Andrea Fujii. "When I turned around, I saw a kid running. That was when I realized it was somebody that was a youngster."

She got a good look at him and was able to give police his description.

The suspect is described as Hispanic, between 13 and 18 years of age, 5-foot-6 with a thin build. He has dark brown cropped hair. There is a rectangular reflector on the back of his bike.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Upland police at 909-946-7624.
