Suspect In Fatal Riverside Stabbing, 31,Turns Himself In
RIVERSIDE (CBS) — A suspect in the stabbing death of a man in Riverside turned himself in after initially leaving the scene, a Riverside police spokesman said Saturday.
Jeffrey Scott Landers, 31, of Riverside, was booked into the Southwest Detention Center in Riverside for suspicion of murder.
He was wanted for the fatal stabbing Friday afternoon of an adult male in the 4100 block of 10th Street, Riverside police Sgt. Dan Russell said.
Officers responded to the call of a reported stabbing at 2:05 p.m., located the victim and had him transported to Riverside Community Hospital where he died from his wound, Russell said. The victim's name was being withheld, pending family notification.
"For unknown reasons, the suspect produced a knife and stabbed the victim, one time," Russell said. "After the incident, the suspect fled but later returned to the scene and surrendered to officers."
