Suspect In Deadly Lake Forest Stabbings Faces 2nd Murder Charge
SANTA ANA (CBS) — Authorities have filed a second murder charge against a man in connection with a huge brawl that took place outside a popular hangout spot over the weekend.
Deputies say the altercation, which involved four men and three women, broke out about 2 a.m. Saturday outside Albatros Mexican Food on Rockfield Boulevard.
Orange County sheriff's spokesman Jim Amormino said 32-year-old Hossain Saidian – the second stabbing victim -- died Thursday at Mission Hospital Regional Center in Mission Viejo.
Justin Alvin Masao Tombleson, 28, of Lake Forest turned himself in Monday and was charged Wednesday with the murder of Saidian's friend, 26-year-old Elvis Kechechian, who died of a stab wound on Saturday.
Tombleson was also charged with attempted murder with sentencing enhancements and causing great bodily harm, which sheriff's investigators will seek to have upgraded to murder, Amormino said. His attorney Monday said Tombleson was acting in self-defense.
Funeral services were held for Kechechian Saturday at Saddleback Church in Lake Forest.
