Stabbing Suspect Arrested After Barricade Standoff In Bellflower
BELLFLOWER (CBSLA.com) — A man accused of stabbing his elderly neighbor Saturday was taken into custody after a barricade standoff in Bellflower.
Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies said in a department statement the suspect, identified as 31-year-old Brandon St. Mark, knocked on his 78-year-old neighbor's door, entered the home, and allegedly stabbed the victim multiple times.
He then reportedly barricaded himself inside his own home for several hours.
The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The incident in the 17900 block of Redwood Avenue unfolded about 1:32 a.m.
By 8:20 a.m., the suspect was in custody.
He has since been booked on suspicion of attempted murder with bail set at $500,000.
A motive for the attack remains unknown, the statement said.
