Armed Suspect Fatally Shot By Officers In Sylmar
SYLMAR (CBSLA.com) — A male suspect was killed Thursday during an officer-involved shooting in Sylmar.
Officers were sent shortly before 7:30 a.m. for report of a man with a gun in the area of Tyler Street and Glenoaks Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Upon their arrival, police were confronted by the suspect who carried a gun, and an officer-involved shooting subsequently occurred.
The suspect was struck by gunfire, and was transported to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead. His identity is being withheld pending family notification.
No officers were injured during the shooting.
According to officers, a lockdown that was placed on Olive Vista Middle School has been lifted. School was not in session when the incident took place.
