Suspect Arrested In Murder Of Beverly Hills Woman
BEVERLY HILLS (CBS) — A suspect police said was likely known to the victim was arrested Wednesday in connection with the murder of a woman in Beverly Hills.
Officers responding to a welfare check at 1:48 p.m. on the 100 block of North Hamilton Drive, near Wilshire and La Cienega boulevards, found the woman's body, an apparent victim of a homicide, Beverly Hills Police Department Lt. Mark Rosen said.
Police detectives and crime scene investigators began investigating and "a person of interest was soon detained in a nearby office building," Rosen said.
The suspect, whose name was not released, was arrested on suspicion of murder and booked into the Beverly Hills jail, Rosen said. There are no outstanding suspects, he said.
The victim's name is being withheld, pending notification of next of kin. Police said the woman was in her 50s.
The killing was the first in Beverly Hills since the fatal shooting of publicist Ronnie Chasen on Nov. 16, according to Lt. Lincoln Hoshino. There were three homicides in Beverly Hills in 2010.
