Suspect Arrested In Death Of Man Who Was Run Down In Lynwood

LYNWOOD (CBSLA.com) — Detectives have arrested a 23-year-old suspect in connection with the murder of a man who was run over by a vehicle on Sunday.

Anthony Hernandez is accused of killing 25-year-old Ivan Torres at a party in the 1110 block of Linden Street in Lynwood, Los Angeles County homicide detectives said.

"During the course of the party, words were exchanged between the victim and the suspect," Deputy Jeff Gordon said.

Hernandez then allegedly entered his vehicle with another man and ran over Torres, Gordon said.

Torres, of Inglewood, was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The investigation into the murder was ongoing and authorities are still searching for the second suspect.

"There is no bail on the arrest charge," Gordon said.

Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to contact the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Homicide Bureau at (323)890-5500.
