Suspect Arrested For Allegedly Making Bomb Threat To Thousand Oaks Business
THOUSAND OAKS (CBSLA.com) — A man was arrested Tuesday for allegedly reporting a bomb threat to a Thousand Oaks business.
Police responded to the Burlington Coat Factory at 285 N Moorpark Rd. on May 28 after the store received a threatening phone call.
Several patrol units searched the premises and found no bomb or suspicious package.
During the investigation, detectives determined 23-year-old Brandon Wimsatt's telephone was used to make the threat.
"The investigation also revealed Wimsatt took steps to hide his phone number from being discovered," Det. Tim Lanquist said in a statement.
The suspect was arrested for falsely reporting a bomb to a business and was booked into the Ventura County Pre-Trial Detention Facility. He was being held on $10,000 bail.
