Stretch Of 710 Freeway In Lynwood Reopens Following Asphalt Spill
LYNWOOD (CBS) — A stretch of the Long Beach (710) Freeway reopened on Saturday morning following an overnight closure as a result of an asphalt spill, the California Highway Patrol said.
CHP officer Tatiana Sauquillo said the spill was reported at 7:21 p.m. Friday on the southbound lanes at Imperial Highway.
"A big rig leaked asphalt," Sauquillo said. "He pulled over to the right shoulder, but the asphalt spread all over the lanes."
Traffic was routed off at Firestone Boulevard and, according to CHP officer Patrick Kimball, all lanes reopened about 3:30 a.m.
