Lakers Have Yet To Rule Out Steve Nash For Season

OKLAHOMA CITY (CBSLA.com) -Just a day after Kobe Bryant announced that he will miss the rest of the season, Mike D'Antoni said the 40-year-old Steve Nash will not return for the rest of the season, according to the LA Times.

However, our sources tell us D'Antoni's comments about Nash being done for the year is more about evaluating Kendall Marshall and Jordan Farmar -- meaning  Lakers would play Nash, if needed.

The NBA's oldest player has been battling leg and back injuries all year long and was limited to only playing 10 games for the purple and gold.

Although Nash has one year left on his contract, many speculated Nash would retire if he wasn't able to finish the season.

"The reality is, I'm not going to retire because I want the money," Nash said.

The Lakers are due to pay him $9.7-million next season.
