Stars Walk Red Carpet At 20th Annual Critics' Choice Movie Awards
HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — Sandwiched perfectly between the Golden Globes and Oscar nominations, the stars walked the red carpet Thursday evening at the 20th annual Critics' Choice Movie Awards.
Many of the stars who walked the carpet, like actress/director Angelina Jolie, got to feel love from colleagues who might have snubbed them earlier in the day for Oscar nominations.
Jolie, the current Mrs. Brad Pitt, was a critical favorite for directing "Unbroken."
Brad Pitt's former wife, Jennifer Aniston, was also ignored by Academy voters for her lead role in "Cake." She was nominated as Best Actresss by the critics.
"Birdman" was nominated for Best Picture and Best Actor, Michael Keaton.
The former "Batman" actor, Keaton (who won three Critics' awards Thursday) will face serious competition at the Oscars from Eddie Redmayne, who portrayed Stephen Hawking in "The Theory of Everything."
The winner of the Best Picture at the Critics' Awards has gone on to win the Best Picture Oscar 12 times in the past 15 years.
The awards are chosen by 300 television, radio and online critics who write about the film business.
A telecast of the awards aired on A&E.
