Sproles Leaving San Diego For Saints; Bolts To Sign Brown, Tolbert
SAN DIEGO (CBS) - It didn't take the Saints not even a whole day to replace running back Reggie Bush as they sign long-time Chargers speedster Darren Sproles.
Sproles has reportedly agreed to sign with the New Orleans Saints to a 4-year, $14 million, which $6 million are guaranteed.
The 5-foot-6 screen play specialist collected almost $14 million in the last two season with the Chargers as they gave him the franchise tag.
Sproles who was with the Chargers since 2005 has collected over 7,000 return yards and 21 touchdowns.
The Chargers also signed wide receiver Vincent Brown to a four-year contract, according to the teams press release. The former San Diego State Aztec was chosen by the Chargers in the third round of the 2011 NFL Draft.
Brown is the third all-time leading receiver in San Diego State history with 209 catches and 3,110 yards. He was a two-time All-Mountain West Conference selection. His 1,342 yards receiving in 2010 rank fourth on the school's single-season charts.
Restricted free agent Mike Tolbert will sign his one year, $1.8 million dollar tender on Friday.
