Spotlight on Grand Park
Downtown Los Angeles recently welcomed a Grand new park...Grand Park which stretches from The Music Center to City Hall East. Whether you are in the area for work or play, or if you are a resident, you can find many a diversion at this lovely 12-acre park. The park, which takes up the expanse between City Hall, the Law Library, the Hall of Records and the Hall of Administration, was completed in stages.
The Fountain Block Plaza features the restored historic Arthur J. Will Memorial Fountain with its "new wade-able membrane pool." This area of the park opens up to the Performance Lawn, Community Terrace and Event Lawn. There is ample space for gatherings or just a quiet time in the park. Onsite amenities include the Redline Metro station at Civic Center, Starbuck's, ATM and restrooms.
The opening of the park was celebrated with a number of Fall events including a Downtown Block Party, CicLAvia Hub, and Make Your Mark in the Park Pooch Party. Upcoming events include an October 27 AXIS Dance Company performance on the Event Lawn. To find out about future events consult their online event calendar.
