Southland Stores Keep Doors Open In Hopes Of After-Christmas Sales Boost
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Christmas is over and the sprint to return unwanted gifts and scoop up holiday deals began early Thursday.
Kohl's in Northridge opened its doors at 5 a.m. for shoppers eager to exchange presents, as well as those who want to cash in on major post-holiday discounts.
Across the nation, big-box retailers will offer extended store hours in order to compete with online retailers for December 26th sales.
Customers will also be looking to use nearly $30 billion newly received gift cards.
According to Shopper Track, holiday sales were down 3.5 percent in 2013.
