South LA Man Allegedly Kidnapped, Forced To Drive To Strip Club
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Two gang members faced kidnapping and robbery charges Wednesday after allegedly forcing a South Los Angeles man to drive them to a local strip club.
South Los Angeles Sheriff's Station detectives said the early morning kidnapping and robbery began in Lennox and ended with the release of the victim and arrest of the suspects in Hawthorne.
The victim was reportedly standing in front of his home located near 107th Street and Inglewood Avenue shortly after midnight when he was approached by two men on foot. The suspects demanded the victim give them a ride to an undisclosed location.
Fearing the suspects were gang members, the victim complied, authorities said.
After making several stops at various locations throughout the Lennox area, the suspects ordered the victim to drive them to the "Bare Elegance" gentlemen's club located in the 4800 block of West Imperial Highway in Hawthorne.
At that point, the suspects took some personal property from the victim, released him, and entered the club.
Officers from Hawthorne Police Department were notified of the incident and responded to the club a short time later.
The officers identified suspects Miguel Ortiz, 33, and Sergio Maldonado, adult age unknown, inside of the club, detained them, and notified South Los Angeles Station.
The suspects - both of whom are suspected gang members - were arrested on a variety of charges including kidnapping and robbery.
