South Carolina Man, 25, Wanted For Child Fondling Nabbed At LAX
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — A 25-year-old South Carolina man wanted for child fondling was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport as he arrived from Seoul, Korea, authorities said Thursday.
Robert Briggs was taken into custody Wednesday at about 12:45 p.m. at the airport by U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers, said the agency's Jaime Ruiz.
Briggs was the subject of an open warrant by the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office in South Carolina. The warrant was issued March 13.
Briggs was turned over to Los Angeles police and is expected to be extradited to South Carolina.
The federal agency's primary mission is anti-terrorism but they also screen all people, vehicle and goods entering the country.
