Some Metro Blue Line Trains To Experience Service Disruptions Starting Saturday

LONG BEACH (CBSLA.com) — For the next month, Metro Blue Line trains will not be headed into downtown Long Beach as part of a $1.2 billion facelift.

All southbound trains will stop at the Anaheim Street station on Long Beach Boulevard starting Saturday.

From there, passengers wishing to continue on into downtown Long Beach will be able to travel there via free shuttle bus.

The service disruptions through Oct. 19, are part of the renovation of the stations and tracks.

The Blue Line, which began operating in 1990, is the oldest light rail system in Los Angeles County and has about 90,000 boardings per day.
