Social Media Goes Bananas Over Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s Banana & Mayo Sandwich
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) - NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. decided to share a picture of his favorite banana and mayonnaise sandwich on Twitter Tuesday causing an uproar on social media.
In the tweet that included the picture of the sandwich, Earnhardt Jr. also tagged Hellmann's which happens to be one of his sponsors.
Earnhardt seemingly knew that this image would cause an uproar and continued to stir the pot by following up with a tweet stating, "the banana mayo sandwich combo reaction is always so passionate. What if you added peanut butter? That's always an option you know."
The response from his followers was very mixed, but seemingly enough the post encouraged fans to try the sandwich and share their experiences on social media.
