SoCal Charter School Still In Race For Obama Speech
SAN DIEGO (CBS/AP) — A Southland charter school is one step closer to winning a competition for President Obama to deliver its commencement speech.
KNX 1070's Tom Reopelle reports High Tech High International is still the running after a Pittsburgh high school for performing arts students has been eliminated from a contest whose winner will receive a commencement address from President Barack Obama.

The White House announced Monday that Pittsburgh CAPA 6-12, School for Creative and Performing Arts was eliminated from a list of six semifinalists nationwide.
The public voted on videos produced by those schools, which made the case why each believed the president should attend its graduation exercises.
The president is expected to choose from the three remaining schools later this week, a list which also includes Booker T. Washington High School in Memphis, Tenn.; and Bridgeport High School in Bridgeport, Wash.
The president spoke at Michigan's Kalamazoo Central High School, the winner in the contest's inaugural year.
