So-Called 'Well Dressed Bandit' Hits 10 SD-Area Banks
SAN DIEGO (CBS) — The FBI and law enforcement officials are asking for the public's help in identifying a man suspected of robbing ten San Diego-area banks since May 2010.
The so-called Well Dressed Bandit is described as a Black male in his mid-30s. He is 6'2", weighs 220 pounds and was last seen dressed in mostly black.
According to a news release issued by the FBI's San Diego Field Office, the suspect's latest robbery occurred about 5:45 p.m. Friday at a Chase Bank on Scranton Road in San Diego. The incident marked the third time the suspect is believed to have robbed the location.
Authorities say the suspect entered the bank, approached the teller and demanded cash after simulating a weapon.
After the teller handed over the money, the suspect initially fled on foot, but was seen by witnesses entering a black luxury vehicle, either a Lexus or Mercedes Benz.
