Small Fire Burns In Santa Clarita
SANTA CLARITA, Calif. (AP) — Firefighters and water-dropping helicopters are attacking a 5-acre brushfire near the city of Santa Clarita north of Los Angeles.
The fire erupted about 2 p.m. Tuesday west of Interstate 5 and burned up a steep ridge in the unincorporated Stevenson Ranch area.
Los Angeles County fire Inspector Frederic Stowers says no homes are in danger and wind is not a problem.
Stowers says firefighters are making quick work of the blaze.
The fire was caused by a single-vehicle accident. Stowers says the driver was taken to a hospital but the condition of that person is not known.
