Small Brush Fire Burning In Newport Beach
NEWPORT BEACH (CBSLA.com) — A small brush fire was reported in Newport Beach on Wednesday evening.
The fire was threatening several structures but CBS2's Stacey Butler said firefighters had the "upper hand."
The blaze was reported around 4 p.m. near Bristol Avenue and Jamboree Road, near a Fletcher Jones Motorcars.
Several water-dropping helicopters helped in the firefighting effort.
"Because of the helicopter," Butler reported, "the fire is being more contained by the minute."
Officials described the blaze as "a vegetation fire."
Butler said residents of a nearby apartment complex were evacuated as a precaution.
