Skeletal Remains Found In Malibu Creek State Park

MALIBU (CBS) — A hiker found human skeletal remains in the Tapia Park area of Malibu Creek State Park.

The remains were discovered late Sunday afternoon near Las Virgenes Road, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Sheriff's homicide detectives and coroner's investigators were sent to the scene.

Coroner's Assistant Chief Ed Winter said the remains were those of a human, but the gender was not immediately known.
