Six Appointed As Los Angeles Superior Court Judges
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — A half-dozen people were appointed today as Los Angeles Superior Court judges by Gov. Jerry Brown.
They are:
-- Kerry R. Bensinger, 51, of San Marino, who has been a partner at
Bensinger Ritt Tai and Thvedt since 1995. He fills the vacancy created by Judge
Dennis A. Aichroth's retirement;
-- Michelle Williams Court, 45, of Los Angeles, who has worked for Bet
Tzedek since 2002, where she is vice president and general counsel of the
nonprofit. She fills the vacancy created by Judge Conrad R. Aragon's
retirement;
-- Holly J. Fujie, 56, of Los Angeles, who has been an equity
shareholder for Buchalter Nemer since 1991 and fills the vacancy created by
Judge Jerry E. Johnson's retirement;
-- Michael Garcia, 54, of Alhambra, who has been a Superior Court
commissioner since 2007 and fills the vacancy created by Judge Marlene A.
Kristovich's retirement;
-- Roberto Longoria, 48, of Pasadena, who has been a sole practitioner
since 2006. He will fill the vacancy created by Judge John A. Kronstadt's
appointment to the U.S. District Court; and
-- Michael J. Raphael, 43, of Los Angeles, who has been an assistant
U.S. attorney in the Central District of California since 1999. He fills the
vacancy created by Judge Charles E. Horan's retirement.
