Singer Sly Stone Pleads Not Guilty To Drug Charge
VAN NUYS (CBS) — Singer Sly Stone entered a not guilty plea Wednesday to a drug charge related to his April 1 arrest in Los Angeles.
Stone, whose real name is Sylvester Stewart, faces one count of possession of cocaine base.
The Los Angeles Police Department's Topanga division arrested the 67-year-old singer at about 4:10 a.m. Stone was released later that day on $10,000 bail.
A pretrial hearing has been set for July 19, in Van Nuys Superior Court.
