Sinead O'Connor Blasts Kardashian On Cover Of Rolling Stone, Declares 'Music Has Died'

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — For Sinead O'Connor, nothing compares to putting Kim Kardashian on a Rolling Stone cover - a move which has the Irish singer lamenting the state of pop music.

O'Connor, 46, took to Facebook to lambast the release of the latest issue of Rolling Stone - which features a scantily-clad Kardashian posing in a sailor cap - in which she called the reality TV star a "c--t".

"What is this c**t ("I don't smile much because it causes wrinkles") doing on the cover of Rolling Stone? Music has officially died. Who knew it would be Rolling Stone that murdered it?" the singer-songwriter wrote.

"Bob Dylan must be f***ing horrified," she added, along with a "#BoycottRollingStone" hashtag.

Rolling Stone had no immediate reaction to O'Connor's post, which appeared to have been taken down by Wednesday.

It's not O'Connor's first brush with controversy: she made international headlines back in 1992 when she ripped up a photo of Pope John Paul II during an appearance on "Saturday Night Live."

More recently, O'Connor penned an open letter to "Wrecking Ball" singer Miley Cyrus in which she rebuked Cyrus for acting as if "it is in any way 'cool' to be naked and licking sledgehammers in your videos."
