Simi Valley Intersection Reopened After Water Main Break, Sinkhole
SIMI VALLEY (CBSLA.com) — A busy intersection in Simi Valley has been reopened Wednesday after being closed overnight because of a sinkhole and water main break.
A water main underneath the intersection of Los Angeles Avenue and Madera Road caused an 18-foot-long, 3-foot deep sinkhole Tuesday afternoon.
Madera Road was closed overnight to northbound traffic, forcing motorists to find another route to the Ronald Reagan (118) Freeway.
The roadways were reopened as of 12:28 p.m., Simi Valley police Lt. Stephanie Shannon said.
