SigAlert Issued After Man's Body Found On 5 Freeway In East LA
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A pedestrian was fatally struck Monday on the northbound 5 Freeway in East Los Angeles, officials said.
A SigAlert was issued around 5 a.m. after a the body of a 21-year-ol Los Angele man was found on the side of the freeway at the transition road to the northbound Golden State Freeway, the California Highway Patrol said.
Officials said the man was running across the northbound lanes when he was hit by a big rig around 4:30 a.m. He was declared dead at the scene.
The driver of the semi truck, a 51-year-old man from Tustin, was not injured.
