Shooting Outside Pomona High School, 12-Year-Old Boy Transported With Non-Life Threatening Injuries

POMONA (CBSLA) - A -12-year-old boy was injured after several shots were fired from a car at an unknown target near Pomona High School Friday.

The boy did not suffer wounds from the gunfire, which was reported at about 3:25 p.m., but was instead injured by broken glass or debris, according to the Pomona Police Department.

"When officers arrived to the location, they located a juvenile male on the ground," the department said in a statement. "He was transported to a local area hospital with non-life threatening injuries."

He was transported to a nearby hospital in stable condition.

The shooting suspect was said to have been in a dark sedan. Police are still searching for the gunman.

No other injuries were reported.
