Ship By Tuesday To Avoid Expedited Service Fees

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Holiday shipping deadlines have arrived!

With just six days left, gift-givers will have to make their way to the postal office, FedEx or UPS offices by Tuesday to get their presents shipped in time to arrive before Christmas Day without paying hefty expedited service fees.

Complicating the issue is that Christmas Eve falls on a Saturday, so shippers will need to pay for Saturday Delivery with UPS and FedEx.

The last day to send a package using the U.S. Postal Service's first-class mail service is Tuesday, but senders can still use Priority Mail Service and Priority Mail Express Service through Wednesday and Friday, respectively.

The last day to ship via UPS 3 Day Select is Monday, with delivery by Friday. Last-minute shoppers can also ship using UPS 2nd Day Air by Wednesday, or use the Saturday Delivery option with UPS Next Day Air to get a package to its destination by Christmas Eve.

Last-minute shoppers who want to use FedEx have until Wednesday to use FedEx 2Day shipping if they want packages to arrive by Friday, Dec. 23. FedEx First Overnight, Priority Overnight and 2Day will also deliver by Christmas Eve, with a $16 Saturday delivery fee per package.
