South Orange County Schools Put On Lockdown After Bomb Threat
SAN CLEMENTE (CBSLA.com) — All schools in San Juan Capistrano, San Clemente and Dana Point were put on lockdown Wednesday and the students ordered to shelter in place after a bomb threat.
Someone called sheriff's dispatchers at 1:30 p.m., claiming there was a bomb on the school campus, 700 Avenida Pico, Orange County sheriff's Lt. Jeff Hallock said. By 4 p.m., all the schools were cleared and students allowed to go home.
Classes carried on as scheduled, but students were not allowed to leave the building while six bomb-sniffing dogs were used to check the campus for explosives, Hallock said.
