Sheared Hydrant Dumps More Than 100,000 Gallons Inside Ralphs In Castaic
CASTAIC (CBSLA.com) — A sheared fire hydrant dumped more than 100,000 gallons of water into a Ralphs supermarket in Castaic Thursday evening, according to authorities.
The hydrant, behind a store in the 319000 block of Castaic Road, opened up about 8:27 p.m.
Customers had to reportedly scramble to get out of the way of a wall of water.
County Fire has been pumping the water at the front and rear of the store, according to Derek Bell reporting in Sky9.
No injuries were reported.
It is unclear when the Ralphs will be able to reopen.
