Shane Greene, Dodgers agree to minor league deal
Veteran reliever Shane Greene and the Los Angeles Dodgers have agreed to terms on a minor league contract for the 2022 season, with an invitation to Spring Training camp.
The deal brings Greene back to the Dodgers after he spent the final stretch of the season with the team in 2021.
Now 33, Greene has spent portions of big league campaigns with four teams including the New York Yankees, Detroit Tigers and Atlanta Braves.
Over the course of his eight-year career, Greene has managed a 4.52 ERA, 67 saves and 437 strikeouts in 467.2 innings pitched.
He's a one-time All-Star, and when healthy, provides a viable relief option out of the bullpen.
He struggled with command last season, walking nearly 17% of batters he faced while with the Dodgers.
Greene now joins an ever-growing list of recent signees by the Dodgers, who have acquired 10 different pitchers since the end of the lockout between MLB players and owners.
Other notable minor league additions that they've added include Reyes Moronta, Daniel Zamora, Sam Gaviglio and Yency Almonte amongst others.
