Several Hurt After Fleeing Driver Causes 4-Car Crash In San Bernardino
SAN BERNARDINO (CBSLA.com) — Several people were injured Monday night after the termination of a pursuit resulted in a four-vehicle crash in San Bernardino.
The incident happened around 7 p.m. at the corner of Baseline Street and Garden Drive.
KCAL9's Crystal Cruz reported that an SUV driver fleeing police blew through the intersection and plowed into a car, which created a domino effect involving four cars in total.
Four people, including the suspect, were taken to a hospital.
A truck driver who was coming home from work said the SUV slammed into him, causing his vehicle to fly into an RV sales park and knock down a fence.
"I [felt] the crash and then my truck was like crazy … they send me all the way in. I came out, like, I didn't feel anything. The first thing I did was call my wife. I thanked God I was alive," he said.
Police said the suspect could face a DUI charge, along with a charge of running away from officers.
