Series Of Small Quakes Rattle SoCal
SAN DIEGO (AP) — A series of small earthquakes has been reported near the seismically active California-Mexico border. No damages or injuries have been reported.
The U.S. Geological Survey said Saturday that three of the early morning earthquakes measured above magnitude 3.0.
The first and largest of the three temblors hit at 1:45 a.m. The 3.6-magnitude quake was centered 12 miles southeast of Ocotillo. Two minutes later, a 3.3-magnitude quake struck 10 miles east-southeast of the small town east of San Diego.
Later Saturday, the USGS reported that an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.2 struck at 8:02 a.m. and it was centered 11 miles southwest of Guadalupe Victoria in Baja California, Mexico.
