Semi Truck Fatally Strikes 12-Year-Old Boy On Bicycle In Simi Valley
SIMI VALLEY (CBSLA.com) — A driver of a Fresh & Easy tractor trailer truck fatally struck a 12-year-old riding a bicycle Saturday evening in Simi Valley.
The accident occurred at the intersection of Tapo and Alamo Streets at about 7:30 p.m.
The boy -- now identified as Jacob Sellers -- was declared dead at the scene.
An 8-year-old friend was riding with Sellers but was not injured.
Police said the truck's driver was being fully cooperatives. He was not detained or cited. Officials said there was no sign that alcohol played any role in the crash.
The cause of the crash is on-going.
