Late Goal Leads Canucks Past Ducks
ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) -- Henrik Sedin scored a tiebreaking power-play goal on a pass from Daniel Sedin with 5:05 to play, and the Vancouver Canucks beat the Anaheim Ducks 4-2 in an preseason game Friday night.
Mason Raymond scored a short-handed goal in the first period, and Alex Edler also scored for the Canucks (3-5-0), who won their first road preseason game in four tries. Cory Schneider made 23 saves, and Ryan Kesler added an empty-net goal.
Matt Beleskey tied it early in the third period for the Ducks (2-4-0), and Saku Koivu also scored. Jonas Hiller stopped 27 shots while playing the entire game for Anaheim.
After Anaheim's Luca Sbisa took a roughing penalty in the final minutes, Daniel Sedin set up his twin brother for an easy goal with a sharp pass from the slot.
