Search Continues For Missing Newport Beach Doctor, 71
NEWPORT BEACH (CBS) — The search continued Saturday for a Newport Beach doctor who disappeared from a mental health and rehabilitation center in Arizona, sheriff's officials said.
Dr. Ken Litwack, 71, checked himself into the Sierra Tucson Rehabilitation Center Aug. 12 and was last seen around 1 p.m. Tuesday, according to the Pinal County Sheriff's Department.
Family members told sheriff's officials that Litwack, an infectious disease physician, suffers from bouts of confusion and likely wandered off.
Litwack's wife told the Los Angeles Times that clinic employees told her Litwack had left all his personal belongings behind, wallet and watch included, but an American Express card was missing.
Mrs. Litwack told CBS2's Stacey Butler Friday that her husband had recently had a foot injury and that he couldn't sleep and she believed her husband was dealing with the aftermath of being disoriented from his sleep medication.
