Seacrest Reportedly In Talks To Replace Matt Lauer On 'Today Show'
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — E! News and American Idol host Ryan Seacrest could replace Matt Lauer on NBC's "Today Show".
Seacrest reportedly met with NBC executives Tuesday to discuss the possibility of him joining the show when Matt Lauer's contract expires next year.
Lauer, who has been a "Today" co-anchor since 1997, has reportedly signaled to executives that he may want to leave the show.
NBC Universal owns E!, which is also home to Seacrest's production company.
