Schwarzenegger Says Son Improving After Boogie-Boarding Accident
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Via Twitter, former Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger said his 13-year-old son was improving after suffering injuries in a boogie-boarding accident in Malibu.
"Thanks for all your support for Christopher," Schwarzenegger wrote in a Twitter post. "It means a lot to me & to him. He's doing much better & we'll have him back at full speed soon."
Christopher Schwarzenegger, the youngest son of the former governor and Maria Shriver, was hospitalized last week after an accident reportedly left him with several broken bones and a collapsed lung.
In a joint statement issued last week, Schwarzenegger and Shriver said Christopher "is surrounded by his family and friends. He is a brave boy and is expected to make a full recovery."
Shriver filed for divorce from Schwarzenegger July 1, not long after the actor and former governor confirmed that he had fathered a child more than a decade ago with a longtime family housekeeper.
