Schwarzenegger Asks Fans To Pick Photos For Back Cover Of Memoir
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Is he Mr. Universe, Conan The Barbarian or "The Governator" to you?
Former governor and Hollywood action movie icon Arnold Schwarzenegger revealed a glimpse of the front cover of his upcoming autobiography "Total Recall: My Unbelievably True Life Story" to fans on Monday.
Schwarzenegger also reached out to his 2.4 million followers on Twitter for feedback on which images he should use for the book's back cover.
"Yes, I could sit in a dark room and choose them myself, but that's no fun, and I'm just one person," Schwarzenegger said in a statement.
The memoir from publisher Simon & Schuster and co-written by Peter Petre, editor of Fortune Magazine and co-author of books by Alan Greenspan and Norman Schwarzkopf, looks back at Schwarzenegger's meteoric rise from his bodybuilding days in Venice Beach to his larger-than-life turns in some of Hollywood's biggest action films to his unlikely role as the governor of the state of California.
While the book promises to chronicle Schwarzenegger's "embodiment of the American Dream", it remains unclear how much of the book will cover his high-profile split from wife Maria Shriver or the child he fathered with a member of his household staff that was revealed in 2011.
In addition to Twitter, Schwarzenegger has also launched similar campaigns on Facebook and Pinterest soliciting image ideas from the public in exchange for a thank you in the book.
"Total Recall" is set to debut in book stores in October.
