Scary Job Market? Knotts To Hire 1,000 Workers For 'Halloween Haunt'
ANAHEIM (CBS) — The job market in Southern California and across the U.S. may be frightening to some — but one local theme park is offering some quick cash to those who aren't afraid of the dark.
As it does every Halloween, Knott's Berry Farm will turn into the 39th annual Knott's "Scary" Farm later this fall, and the park is looking for a few good ghouls to haunt thirteen mazes, seven live shows and four "scare zones."
While the job is only temporary, Knott's spokeswoman Jennifer Blazey told KNX 1070 that scaring people isn't always a walk in the park.

"You have to have a lot of stamina, because you're not just scaring a couple nights a week, you're scaring every night for 28 nights and two days off a week," said Blazey.
The park won't get "scary" until Sept. 23, but starting Monday, Knott's will begin hiring about 1,000 seasonal workers to fill what Blazey calls "monster positions".
Blazey said they're also for 35 people with a "persona and presence and a scare factor that's really high" whom visitors will see roaming freely around Ghost Town and other areas of the park.
The "scare fair" takes place until 5:00 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at the Knott's Training Center off Western Avenue.
