SB 5 Freeway In Mission Hills Briefly Closed After Inmate Bus Blows Tire
SAN FERNANDO (CBSLA.com) — All southbound lanes of Interstate 5 in Los Angeles were shut down briefly after a Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department inmate bus blew a tire.
The closure happened at about 5:30 a.m. Monday in the Mission Hills area, at the San Diego (405) Freeway, to allow 35 inmates to be transferred to a second bus.
Traffic backed up for miles out of the Newhall Pass as several deputies observed the apparently orderly transfer.
