Santana, Wells Lead Angels Past Baltimore
BALTIMORE (CBS) -- The Angels waited until the 9th inning to open things up, scoring four times, all on one swing of the bat by Vernon Wells on Friday night to beat the Baltimore Orioles 6-1.
It was scoreless in the seventh inning when Maicer Izturis doubled to right, scoring Mike Trout and giving the Angels their first run scored against Baltimore in 33 innings. Torii Hunter followed two batters later with an RBI double giving the Angels a 2-0 lead.
That was more than Ervin Santana needed.
He went 7 2/3 innings, allowing just three hits, picking up his fifth win on the season and helping his team snap a six-game losing streak to the last place O's.
The Angels have won three straight.
